About

History

Magrath Arts (officially the Magrath Centennial Society of the Cultural Arts) was formally established in 1999. It is governed by a board and supported by many volunteers.  We strive to create opportunities for people in Magrath and the surrounding area to be inspired by, create, interpret, observe, and perform art in all its forms including theatre, art, music, and dance.  We collaborate with and respect similar organizations in Southern Alberta.

People

Magrath Arts is governed by a board which meets regularly.  We hold a public Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the spring of each year.  We also have many Members at Large, volunteers, and cast and crew members as part of our team.  Please contact us if you are interested in getting involved.

Current Board Members:

  • Laurel Bennett (President)
  • Carma Leishman (Vice President)
  • Kathleen Harker (Treasurer)
  • (Secretary)* position vacant
  • Arlen Bennett
  • Blake Eves
  • Glade Roberts

Past Productions

Magrath Arts typically puts on one main theatrical production each year.  Auditions are held near the end of May or beginning of June and the performance runs mid-November.  We also participate in and assist with other local musical and theatrical productions.
